Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is set to receive an ambitious update

As part of an update for shareholders and investors, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has shed some light on what the future holds for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Perhaps the most interesting part of Furukawa's brief talk on the game is where he mentions that Nintendo are currently at work on an update that will 'broaden the scope of the gameplay'.

No further details are given, but this is nevertheless an interesting development and it highlights the continued popularity of Pocket Camp.

Besides the news of an upcoming update, the slides also contain some other interesting tidbits of info.

Seemingly half of the currently-active Pocket Camp players have stuck with the game since its initial release. Furukawa also notes that the game has succeeded in amassing a number of continually active users, particularly adult females.

If this release is anything to go by, then we can continue to expect future updates and events, seeing as these are specifically mentioned for having helped Nintendo boost the game's 'business situation'.

If you fancy giving the slides a gander, then you'll find Furukawa's discussion of Pocket Camp on page 19 of this document.

And if you haven't already tried your hand at camp management, then you should scurry on over to the App Store or Google Play, where Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is available for free.
