7 features that NEED to be in Pokemon Sun and Moon

Now Pokemon fever has gripped the planet once again, we reckon a fair few returning PokeFans will soon pick up their first mainline game in a while, when Pokemon Sun and Moon gets released in November 2016.

But what would we like to see in the new entries? I've already got my wish, with the cutest Pokemon since Pikachu already having been revealed. Let's take a look at other things that should definitely be in Pokemon Sun and Moon

7. No relying on old Pokemon

Currently, 721 Pokemon are out in the wild, waiting to be caught. Most of these are excellent (though there are a few stinkers), so it'd be tempting to rely on those.

The Pokemon Company made this mistake in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl: many of the new designs were uglier versions of past favourites, ruining them forever.

In Pokemon Black and White, the Pokemon were way cooler, allowing all old Pokemon to be excluded until after the Elite Four.

The end result was we got to know the new Pokemon far quicker, and they were adopted into the Pokemon family with open arms. Except you, Trubbish.

We need to make sure this happens again - and if The Pokemon Company can build on the excellent Pokemon designs seen in the previous generation, Pokemon X and Y, there's no reason why not.

6. Deep post-Elite Four game

Traditionally, only the quasi-sequels (Emerald, Platinum, Black 2 / White 2, etc.) get the big post games, with players of the normal games having to settle for a few more Pokemon and maybe re-battling the same old trainers.

Let's change that, shall we? Seeing as it's in fake Hawaii, let's have a Pokemon holiday resort, or a beach training camp, or, I dunno, Pikachu with a hula skirt on.

Remember when literally everyone collected Pokemon cards, and traded them at school / work / university / the retirement home / prison?

Right now is the closest we've gotten to that, with everyone and their mums playing Pokemon GO.

How about we get everyone playing the TCG again, too? Then I might finally learn what energy cards do.

Pokemon TCG 4. NX port

If the rumours are to be believed, the NX is some form of home console / handheld hybrid.

This is an exciting prospect, because we'll finally be able to play a proper Pokemon game on our big TVs! Just imagine the graffix mate, it'll be well good.

The online multiplayer could actually be decent, too!

Then again, this is Nintendo we're talking about…

We'd also love to use our Pokemon caught in Sun and Moon in a battling-focused game for the NX / Wii U.

Imagine using your freshly caught Mimikyu to pulverise your friend's pathetic Wimpod, right in front of their face, all in local co-op.

How about fun mini-games, too? Because who doesn't love the mini-games in Pokemon, am I right? Who else loves the beauty contests?

Guys?

2. Proper rival

For too long now, Pokemon games have been plagued by 'rivals' who are friendly, kind, and all round nice people.

I hate nice people.

I need a proper rival - one who says mean things about my mother, punches me in the face, and nicks my wallet for good measure.

Then I can really take pleasure in conquering his level 52 Pidgeot - rather than feel sorry for the six *friends* who've been calling me 'The Big O' for the past 40 hours.

Pretty please?
