Out at midnight: Goblin Sword is probably all the retro-inspired beast slaying you need
Stab, slash, stab, jump
Goblin Sword comes out at midnight, which means I get to tell you about it again.
Honestly, all I want to do is retype the words "Goblin Sword" all the way down this page. That seems to be the best way to get across the purity of this troll bludgeoning video game.
I won't, though, as I'm supposed to tell you what it's all about again (read my previous article for more details).
Goblin Sword is a game in which you set off to destroy monsters and the evil wizard that's conjuring them. It's as simple as that.
The virtual controls are superb (in my experience). This means you can concentrate on uncovering secrets and dodging boomerangs thrown by ugly pigs.
It has light RPG elements in the form of weapons and gear that you can buy. You can also bring back souvenirs from your travels to decorate your home.
Mostly, though, it's a game of big swords and hard verbs: Jump, slash, duck, jump, slash, slash, stab.
You'll be able to purchase Goblin Sword for 69p / 99c on the UK and US App Stores at midnight.
