Nintendo has trademarked Pokemon Delta Emerald in Japan

If a recent Nintendo trademark is any firm indication, a remake of Pokemon Delta Emerald could well be on its way to a 3DS near you.

According to VG247, Nintendo filed the trademark in Japan at some point during May, but the news didn't go public until earlier today.

This follows on from the recent announcement that Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby will also be getting the remake treatment. You can check out brief footage of the games in action below.

Pokemon Emerald followed Sapphire and Ruby as the third Game Boy Advance Pokemon title.
