We first got wind of Evolution: Battle for Utopia only last week. Much to our surprise, then, it's already available to download from the App Store.
Evolution: Battle for Utopia is a mixture of RTS and RPG. In it, you start off as a soldier who crash-lands on an alien planet. You'll have to explore the planet with your robot dog, killing enemies and trying to find other survivors.
While you carry out your exploration research from a pulled-back isometric view, you view combat from ground level.
Your party automatically attacks, so you just have to manage item use and get the active reloads for a damage bonus (just like in Gears of War).
As you do all of this, you'll gain resources to spend on items and, eventually, to build a home base.
As Evolution: Battle for Utopia is free-to-play, it's no surprise to find that you can buy these resources in bigger packs with real cash.
Luckily, though, you're not forced to do this if you don't mind a bit of grinding.
From the little I've played of it so far, Evolution: Battle for Utopia seems like a big game. Colour me impressed.
