Kemco goes retro again with its latest Android JRPG Journey to Kreisia

For most of us, high school jobs involved working retail or waiting tables - but Yusis, the hero of Kemco's latest JRPG, has a decidedly more harrowing vocation in his teenage years: he has to prevent the end of the world.

Not the real world, thankfully, but the magical land of Kreisia which is - fittingly - the stage on which Journey to Kreisia unfolds.

Summoned as a "savior from the outer realm", Yusis must gather as many friends, spells, and weapons as he can if he has any hope of defeating the evil Overlord and making it back in time for midterms.

Journey on my wayward son

Like most of Kemco's titles, Journey to Kreisia is a 2D, turn-based RPG with highly-polished sprites adding a fresh coat of modern paint to the otherwise retro style of gameplay.

The new additions to this latest outing are a weapon system that allows individual pieces of gear to become stronger the more you use them and a coliseum-like battle arena that lets you test your mettle against a host of waiting monsters.

If this sounds like the sort of JRPG that you've been waiting for, or if you just can’t resist anything Kemco, you can download Journey to Kreisia for half off ($3.99 / £2.49) during its introductory sale.
