Prepare to fly around deep space and destroy anything that moves in upcoming iOS blaster Strike Wing

Space might well be the final frontier when it comes to travel destinations. But if you've been playing games for more than five minutes, you've probably already explored an awful lot of the cosmos.

That doesn't diminish the allure of the epic space shooter, though, and we're always interested when a new one flies onto our virtual radar screen.

Especially when its creator is promising adaptive difficulty, free expansions, and a wide array of playable ships.

Scheduled for release later in the year, Dream Builder Studios's Strike Wing is a space flight sim in which you are in control of one of a variety of spaceships.

So, you might be piloting a nippy fighter, or leading the charge in a powerful bomber.

The game's difficulty level is adjusted in accordance with your performance, so new players won't be overwhelmed and seasoned space pilots can be pushed to the limit.

Furthermore, veteran fliers playing on a high difficulty 'setting' will get greater rewards when they succeed.

Dream Builder Studios will launch a series of free expansion packs after the game goes live on the App Store. These packs will contain new missions, ships, and features.

We're going to be keeping a close eye on Strike Wing. As soon as a concrete release date and price fly into view, we'll be sure to let you know.
