Put a flat superhero in your pocket
Currently riding high with Rage of Bahamut, social gaming network Mobage has announced an upcoming card battler set in the Marvel comic book universe, titled – appropriately enough – Marvel: War of Heroes.
Ngmoco, which is the US arm of Japan company DeNA (which runs Mobage - keep up at the back) will head up the development for Marvel: War of Heroes.
The game will feature mechanics based on Rage of Bahamut’s gameplay and artwork from established Marvel artists like Sana Takeda and Adi Granov.
The announcement of Marvel: War of Heroes comes hot on the heels of Mobage’s recently announced Transformers Battle card battler.
A full houseIn Marvel: War of Heroes, players can choose between a single player campaign and PVP card battling.
In the single-player mode, characters will follow the storyline of a solitary hero (Thor, Spider-Man, etc.) to a given point before the game switches focus to another hero.
Marvel will control the art direction and storyline of Marvel: War of Heroes, so fans can expect the story and character portrayal to be faithful to the source material.
Marvel: War of Heroes will be available for both Android and iOS by the end of 2012, but you can pre-register now at www.mobage.com/marvel, gaining yourself a special limited edition card featuring a popular Marvel character for in-game use.
