Ratchet and Clank dev releases first Facebook title

Insomniac Games (Ratchet and Clank, Resistance) has opened its debut Facebook title Outernauts up to the public today, bringing a slice of high-gloss Pokemon-style action to The Social Network.

Blending more traditional social gaming with Nintendo / Game Freak's unstoppable RPG, Outernauts sees you take control of a brave space ranger, who has to tame local wildlife and create a base from which to launch sorties to other planets.

The quality of the presentation in this game is, as you might expect from Insomniac, extremely high, with cartoonish graphics and a suitably cheesy orchestral soundtrack sure to impress.

The script, too, is a little better than the usual Facebook fare (although if you're expecting a massive change from the usual 'do this, then that' structure, you're out of luck).
