Namco Games Portal now available for iPhone

Commercially speaking, there are five main types of game on the App Store. Paid; freemium (in which the game is free but content within it costs money; ad-funded (in which the game is free but you have to put up with ads); lite (which means the download is basically a demo; and free.

Namco Games Portal is a strange cross between freemium and lite, in that it's a free download which contains lite versions of five Namco games. So it's really just an App that you download in order to play demos.

Currently, the App includes:

• PAC-MAN Lite
• Ace Combat Xi: Skies of Incursion Lite
• Galaga REMIX Lite
• Dig Dug REMIX Lite
• Time Crisis Strike Lite

The App also allows you to upload user comments for your favourite games, and supports Facebook. According to Namco, 'games included will be continuously added and updated.'
