Konami pings Wire Way to iPhone

Nice game. Shame about the price

I first came across Wire Way back at E3 2009, when it was a DS game, and very playable it was too.

Now Konami's made the sensible step of bringing the touch controlled Doodle Jump-ish game over to iPhone and iPod touch.

In it, you control a little space alien chap called Wiley, who you ping around the various vertical levels using wires which you pull down and aim using your finger.

The conceit of the game is you're collecting energy, called Elan, which is required to provide Wiley with the extra jumping capabilities to make his way through assorted platforming challenges.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the price.

Wire Way costs $4.99, €3.99 or £2.99, which is too much considering what you can get for 99c these days.

Even more odd is that you can buy additional stages via in-app purchases for a further $1.99, €1.59 or £1.19. Ouch!
