Professor Layton's Diabolical Box opens for 67,500 week one US sales

First sequel in the highly popular brain-teaser Professor Layton series, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box sold 67,500 units in a week following its 24th August release in the US.

Of course, high sales now come with the territory for the Professor and helper Luke.

To date, the Diabolical Box (or Pandora's Box as it will be called in Europe), has sold around 815,000 copies in Japan, while original game Professor Layton and the Curious Village has sold around 1.5 million units globally.

And around 700,000 copies of the third game in the series - Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel - were shipped when it launched in Japan at the end of 2008.

Still, in Europe, we've still go a couple of weeks to wait for our next helping of brain teasers.

Professor Layton and Pandora's Box is due out on 25th September.
