Taito's retro classic Arkanoid coming to iPhone
Doh!
Taito is rapidly becoming one of our iPhone heroes, not only adapting its awesome catalogue of retro classics to the Apple platform, but also revamping them for the hottest handheld of the decade.
The next adaptation to come out of its impressive arcade history is the Breakout shoot-'em-up revamp, Arkanoid.
Although there are already plenty of Breakout clones on the App Store (not to mention the original Super Breakout from Atari), Arkanoid forged itself a unique place in the coin-op annals with this space-based take on the Steve Wozniak original, so we're still massively excited to hear about the imminent attack of Doh.
The iPhone adaptation is to receive a vital graphical update, but will also pack in a two player head-to-head game, played on a single device.
