Far Cry 2 has torn up the console charts with its hectic one-man war machine gameplay, and now it looks as though Gameloft has managed to translate that digital warfare to the mobile platform in full blood 'n' guts style.

Taking to war-torn Africa, it's your happy task to hunt down nefarious gun trafficker The Jackal. The ten levels feature both on-foot and motorcycle action taking you through the Savanna, across deserts and deep into the jungle armed with grenades, flame throwers, mine detectors and sniper rifles.

What's interesting about this third-person shooter is the roaming 2D visuals. There aren't many mobile titles that manage to keep the detail up when adding a bit of depth to the platform-based play area, but it should really help add some serious action to the run 'n' gun gameplay of Far Cry 2.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
