Ignition Entertainment has just announced it will be publishing Blue Dragon Plus in Europe and North America in March 2009.

The DS spin-off to Blue Dragon, released last year on Xbox 360, has been in the works with developer AQ Interactive for a while now and its Japanese release date was recently hit with a six month delay. It also wasn't known if the game would ever see a release outside of its country of origin - until now.

Blue Dragon Plus takes place one year after Shu and his companions defeated Nene. In the midst of the battle, the world split into two and now consists of 'cubes' which exploded from its depths. From one of these cubes, the Shadow of Balaur - a three-headed dragon - emerges, marking the beginning of a new adventure.

The game's single player campaign will apparently include over 30 hours of gameplay, plus more than one hour of dual-screen full-motion video story events to watch. A Legion vs Legion mode will allow you control of up to 16 humans and Mecha Robos to fight enemies, and a multitude of items and other customisations to equip them with.

Now the game has a UK publisher, expect more details to be winging our way over the coming months. Click 'Track It!' for notification on all the latest.
