Mobile Madden NFL 08 looking great
Shame us Brits can't play it yet
It's fair to say that the Madden NFL games haven't been high on the priorities of EA Mobile's European division or the mobile operators. After all, many of us over here don't really get that American football malarkey.
But it's time to make a stand, and foster some cross-Atlantic sporty exchanges. David Beckham is playing for the LA Galaxy, after all, and an NFL regular-season match is coming to London later this year, so hopefully EA's Madden NFL 08 mobile game will follow suit.
See, we've just got some shots and info of the game given that it's being released in the US. And it looks great. There's a new feature called Field Vision Passing, which we don't really understand, other than that it appears to show you player movement when your quarterback is dropped back and ready to pass.
You can also make diving catches, stiff arms and spins, of course, and the game features accurate rosters for all 32 NFL teams (all the players we know retired about ten years ago, sadly), and lovely visual details such as textured pitches. Cor.
Oh, 75 plays from the "real Madden playbook" are also included, as well as team-specific offensive and defensive formations.
Obviously, we'll let you know the moment we hear anything about the game getting a European release.
