Ex High Moon Studios staff form new iPhone developer

The latest hotshot iPhone developer, Appy Entertainment, has some familiar names on its founding team.

Chris Ulm, Farzad Varahramyan, Emmanuel Valdez, Rick Olaffson and Paul O'Connor are all games industry veterans, having worked on console games like Ready 2 Rumble, the Oddworld series, Darkwatch and The Bourne Conspiracy.

Not that the company is planning to simply port complex PC and console titles to iPhone. "Our past games all had distinct style, personality and a sense of humor. But they were complex and time-consuming games," says Valdex.

"Appy's games are quick, habit-forming experiences for gamers on the go. Our games present five minutes of fun that people will play five hundred times or more."

The company hasn't actually announced its first iPhone title, mind. It has set up a development blog though, which is presumably where details will be revealed in due course.

The five co-founders were all previously co-founders of console developer High Moon Studios.
