Out at midnight: Stomp around and blast some alien towers in Anomaly 2 for iPhone and iPad
Anomalous readings

11 bit studio's previously PC-exclusive tower offence title Anomaly 2 will go live on the App Store at midnight tonight.
There'll be explosions, there'll be transforming walkers, and there'll be giant alien towers to destroy.
Anomaly 2 is absolutely gorgeous - yes, even more so than the previous entries in the series - and could well set a new visuals benchmark for mobile devices.
As for the gameplay, there's a single-player campaign here in which you lead a convoy across an irradiated wasteland, battling against alien monsters and using new troop types and machines to turn the tide of the battle in your favour.

Plus, there's online multiplayer. Here, one player is cast as the alien towers. The other, meanwhile, controls the intrepid human attackers in a stupidly pretty battle to the death.
Anomaly 2 will set you back £2.99 / $4.99 when it surfaces on the App Store at midnight. While you're waiting, why not check out our hands-on preview of the game.
