Namco Bandai plans to bomb Capcom with its new MiG-21

Our favourite April Fool's to-date is Namco Bandai's press release that it's bought an aging Soviet fast jet in order to bomb its rivals, notably Capcom.

The news comes as the 'Estovakian Air Force' is scrapping its jet fighters, including one MiG-21Bis.

Sonic boom boy

Thanks to its Ace Combat franchise, Namco Bandai has fictionally bought one of the jets - "invested just over £285,000 restoring the aircraft to a fully functional state" - before marketing director Lee Kirton notionally took to the air like John Belushi in 1941, bombing the bejesus out of local publishing rival, Capcom.

Mainly their words, not ours.

"Namco Bandai UK is tired of normal, boring marketing and PR stunts,' said marketing director, Kirton, as he apparently hummed 'You've lost that loving feeling'.

"We want a Mach 2 jet to impress girls and scare Stringfellow Hawke. Airwolf can only go Mach 1 right?"

If you care about airplanes, this is a what the MiG-21 is all about.
