The American transcontinental railroad was considered one of the greatest achievements of the golden age of rail. Stretching more than 1,770 miles, it crossed from the East Coast to West. Inspiring innumerable simulations of this race to the coast, including Ticket to Ride, and its own latest expansion that takes you to Africa!

Yes, while the American continent is huge, Africa is even bigger. The continental United States stretches 2,800 miles, and Africa is nearly twice that. Ticket to Ride: Heart of Africa reimagines the tabletop classic in digital form for the first time as you tackle the challenges of the vast continent.

No surprise that terrain plays a major factor in expanding your railroad empire. Terrain Cards correspond to designated routes on the Heart of Africa map, doubling the points earned from said route, although you'll need at least two for the four-to-six routes.

The catch to Terrain Cards? To use them on a route, you need to have at least as many of that certain type as any other player in the game. The vast African landscape has both opportunities and challenges for those looking to establish a continent-spanning rail network.

Following hot on the heels of Ticket to Ride: Japan, it's no surprise that Africa was the next stop designated by fans in a public poll. With Ticket to Ride already doing a great job of translating the classic tabletop experience, I suppose the only question is where exactly they plan on stopping next.
