3DS Super Street Fighter IV has over-the-shoulder view?

Gaming site 4gamer, which yesterday got a hands on with the 3DS version of SSFIV, reports that Capcom’s latest instalment of the classic fighter will feature an over-the-shoulder camera perspective.

Apparently turning the game’s 3D setting to ‘on’ sticks the camera behind the character’s back, allowing you to see the world of Ryu, Ken, and chums from a fresh perspective.

It’s hard to imagine how the game's controls, which take left as ‘back’ and right as ‘forwards’ when inputting commands, would cope with a character-hugging 3D camera, but 4gamer reports that the view doesn't impair gameplay.

We can’t be sure whether this will be a feature of the finished game or whether it's simply a way of showcasing the effect of the 3DS’s capabilities for the sake of a preview.

Either way, it’s a very interesting development for such a tried and tested series.
