Raven's Path, the retro-styled strategy game, is now entirely free to play

Evil Villain Games has announced that their strategy game Raven's Path has had its paywall removed, meaning that the game is now entirely free. Previously, players had to pay $5 to unlock the full version of the game after 21 battles.

Obviously, this is no longer the case, allowing players to reach the end of the game without making any purchases or watching ads. However, after each battle, players can opt to watch an advert to net themselves double the rewards, though this isn't required to progress, and the developer insists they haven't made the game more grindy to encourage watching adverts.

However, if players do wish to support the game, it is possible to pay $5 to remove ads and get the rewards as if watched them. This can be found by clicking the Evil Villain Games logo on the opening screen. Players who already own the game will automatically be given the ad-free version of Raven's Path.

If you're unfamiliar with Raven's Path, it is a strategy game that's played in portrait orientation with the straightforward aim of preventing enemies from reaching the bottom of the screen. To do this, players will have to block opposing units with their own.

There are different units available to choose from, each bringing its own abilities. For instance, the Ancient Healer restores health whilst the Bishop will buff attack and defence. However, these effects entirely depend on the positioning of the units, meaning players will have to carefully consider where they place their troops.

Raven's Path is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's now an entirely free game with optional adverts.
