When I was scanning over the Nintendo 3DS eShop releases for this week, my heart skipped a beat.

I spotted a game that I had forgotten all about. A game that's all about mining.

No, Minecraft is not coming to the Nintendo 3DS. It's actually something that could be potentially even more exciting. Read on to find out what the heck I'm on about.

There's some great looking sales on this week, too, with price cuts that you're definitely going to want to take advantage of.

Let's get cracking.

European eShop releases

SteamWorld Dig was the mining game I was talking about in the intro. While I have no idea how this game plays as-of-yet, there's no doubt that I will be grabbing a copy this evening.

I mean, have you read what this game is about? It's a 2D side-scroller in which you are a lone mining steambot, digging deep into the earth to uncover secrets, treasures and horrible things that lurk below.

Meanwhile, you're simultaneously uncovering a human civilization, while helping the town of Tumbleton on the surface to get back up and running. The worlds are randomized, and the gameplay is always different each time you play.

Like I say, I haven't actually played this one yet, but if it can live up to its premise, we're in for quite the ride. It costs £7.99.

Otherwise, there isn't much of interest this week. Tangram Style is a tangram puzzle game for £5.39, while Deer Drive Legends is a hunting game for £4.49.

There's some games on sale too. Rising Board 3D is a mere £1.29, which is a ridiculous price for something so fun. Meanwhile Crash City Mayhem is £8.99, which is probably still on the expensive side for what you're getting.

And escapeVektor is down from £8.99 to £4.49. Sales galore and all that.

US eShop releases

The American eShop also gets SteamWorld Dig, as described above, except you're paying $8.99 for it. You guys also get Tangram Style for $6.99, while a bowling game called Smash Bowling 3D is $4.99.

But the big one for America this week is Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It's the next big Mario RPG, and it's a bit of a stonker. That's a good thing, for US readers who don't know the lingo.

Mario is able to go into Luigi's dreams, Inception style, and battle enemies in a turn-based style. It's as wacky and harebrained as you'd expect, and very much worth grabbing.

EscapeVektor is just $4.99 this week on the American store, so that's also a big plus point.

Back next week!
