Welcome back to our weekly run-down of Nintendo's digital shop.

This week we have classic Nintendo characters, nifty RPGs, rhythm platformers, and all sorts of other strange-looking games in the eShop.

And there's older retail games now available for download, just in case you missed them the first time around.

But which ones are worth grabbing, and which should you leave well alone? Take my hand, and I'll show you the way. No, not that hand - the other one.

Let's do this.

European eShop releases

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is a handheld version of the original Nintendo Wii platformer. It was pretty great on the Wii, although perhaps a little too tricky at times.

Fortunately, this new version is toned down to make it easier to play. We'll have a review soon, but in the meanwhile it's £34.99 if you're interested.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars was a launch title for the 3DS, and it was pretty decent. Now you can grab it digitally for £17.99.

Swords & Soldiers 3D is available for £5.90. On PC, it was a great side-scrolling battler. Be warned: I've heard murmurs that the 3DS version is a rubbish port, so you might want to hold off on that.

Air Battle Hockey 3D is a game about air hockey, in case you hadn't already guessed. For £4.49, you be the judge of whether it's worth the asking price or not.

And Groove Heaven looks to be very similar to Beat Sneak Bandit in execution. You move through a variety of levels by tapping to the beat. £3.59 for that.

There's a couple of demos this week too - both Rabbids Rumble and PROJECT X ZONE: A Lethal Surprise are up on the eShop to sample.

And quirky RPG The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave is on sale this week, down to £5.69 from £7.19. It's well worth that price.

US eShop releases

Americans! You get Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D this week as well, so don't go feeling left out. We'll have a review for you soon.

You've also got NARUTO Powerful Shippuden - no idea what that one is like - and Groove Heaven, the Beat Sneak Bandit lookalike.

And that's about it - sorry American brethren. Your time will come, of that I am sure.

See you next week!
