Gameloft launches Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus on the Android Market

Having spent the past half a year or so avoiding the Android Market like the plague, Gameloft has finally returned to the fold with the re-release of Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus HD for Android.

Modern Combat 2 puts you in the first-person shoes of an all-action hero, darting from country to country, shooting people in the face, and regaling your grandchildren about it beside a grave.

Actually, I think that last one may have been the start of Saving Private Ryan.

In any case, Modern Combat 2 had a Pocket Gamer Silver Award pinned to its chest back in March thanks to its thrilling action and excellent touchscreen combat.

The ten-player multiplayer mode that was such a hit on the iPhone version was a little devoid of players at the time, so hopefully this new Market release will see a few more wannabe soldiers take up the bayonet.

Gameloft has also said that more of its games will be making their way over to the Market in due course, with Asphalt 6 scheduled next. We’ll let you know when they arrive.

In the meantime, Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus HD is available for high-end devices to download from the Android Market for £4.27, which is tad bit cheeky, as the game retails for £3 on the company’s web store.
