King of Fighters: Survival City, the new strategy gacha RPG based on the popular fighting game property, soft launches in a few regions

The oddball spin-off game King of Fighters: Survival City has officially launched within the Philippines and Malaysia exclusively for now. This take on the popular fighting game property King of Fighters sees all of your favourite characters from the franchise tackle the antagonist of the game, a corporation called NEST, along with their massive army of brainless goons attempting to destroy the city.
With a focus on strategic gacha gameplay, KoF: Survival City seems to want to transport the characters we all know and recognise from the series to a brand new setting, and one that has not been seen within the world of KoF before, either. It also allows you to create your dream team from the KoF roster, each with their own unique skill set and way of fighting within each battle.

As you battle with your team, they’ll slowly level up and become stronger, all while gathering up new equipment to use as their own skills become more powerful too. This is pretty typical gacha progression from the sounds of it, so if you’ve played other games within this genre, you’ll understand what’s going on.
King of Fighters has seen a bit of a boom within the mobile scene lately, with games like the recently released King of Fighters ALLSTAR showing off what the franchise can do outside of its fighting game roots. Now, with the largest departure we’ve seen so far, it’ll be really interesting to see how it plays once it launches globally.
Unfortunately, for us outside of those regions, there’s no word on a global release date yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, those of you located within the Philippines or Malaysia can download the game for free at the links below, and others can check out the official website for a deeper look at the game.
