Groove Coaster Zero upgraded to Groove Coaster 2, launches on Android for first time

Taito's finger-tappingly good free to play rhythm game Groove Coaster Zero has been updated to Groove Coaster 2. Plus, it's finally made its Android debut on Google Play.

All the tracks from Groove Coaster Zero are still about, only now many of them boast alternate arcade versions that make use of more complex two-handed controls.

The all-new mission system means you can earn titles for your profile, new player avatars, and power-ups. Thankfully old hands will open up the game to find they've already passed many of these missions.

There's also a new control style option that uses your device's built-in mic to let you play by clapping, tapping your desk or, er... singing along. While this Let's Tap approach is intriguing, in practice it's not one for score-chasers.

To celebrate the launch, Taito has a 25% off sale on their Vocaloid, Kagerou Project, and Original track packs. The discount will end on July 15.

Now all Taito needs to do is to port across JUMPER, the best dang ditty in the arcade version, and I'll never need to go to Japan ever again.

You can grab Groove Coaster 2 for free on Google Play and the App Store now.
