Now that’s what we call a smooth engine

The technical bods over at Digital Foundry have put up a sizeable clip of Gran Turismo on PSP in action.

You may wonder what the big deal is, as we’ve seen a number of clips of the game running in the past. Well, this one differs in that it shows the game running at its native rate of 60FPS (Frames Per Second).

For those of you who have no idea what that means, let’s just say that a game working at 60FPS moves significantly smoother than you might be used to. Most games (even on the big powerful home consoles) run at a measly 30FPS or lower.

You’ll be able to appreciate the difference by taking a glance at the video in the DF section of Eurogamer. It’s also a good opportunity to see some more of the tracks and cars that will feature in the game.

We can’t wait for the game's expected October release.
