Crossy Road Castle teams up with SpongeBob SquarePants for new collab

It's always strange to be reminded that one of those older releases you saw floating around when you were younger has ballooned into its own mini-franchise. Exactly the case with Crossy Road and its competitive multiplayer spin-off, Crossy Road Castle. But even I can appreciate a good collab crossover, and Crossy Road Castle is doing so with none other than SpongeBob SquarePants!
Yes, none other than Stephen Hillenburg's iconic creations are coming to Crossy Road Castle. A whole host of Bikini Bottom-themed levels, as well as SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Sandy as playable characters.
And when I say 'host', in this case, I mean a whopping 40 levels for you to compete against your friends in. You'll be challenged with collecting Krabby Patties and avoiding getting stung by Jellyfish as part of the Krabby Patty Kollectathon event that's running until August 17th.
Are ye' ready, kids?
SpongeBob is undoubtedly one of the most iconic cartoon characters of all time. And while I may have to show myself up as the grumpy old man that says, "It was better back in my day!" I'm nonetheless happy to see kids nowadays are still experiencing the nautical adventures of this happy sponge.Crossy Road Castle also has a surprising amount of appeal in offering a more intricate and challenging take on the classic format. While Crossy Road originally (obviously) riffed on the format of stuff like Flappy Bird, Crossy Road Castle offers something more engaging and competitive at that.
