Game release dates have always had something of the 'how long is a piece of string?' about them, but as we approach the busy Christmas period it seems plenty of companies are getting their scissors out.

Only last week we complained about Nintendo pushing Star Fox Command into 2007, while the week before saw the slippage of ActionLoop.

Now Rising Star has followed suit, dropping its much anticipated role-playing game Contact from its original late November slot into February.

The company's chief operating officer, Martin Defries, tried to put a valiantly brave spin on proceedings, saying: "Contact is an amazing title for the DS, and we're hopeful that the extra stock we'll have available will address the demand for such a unique game."

For more details on the game, which sees you helping an odd professor whose spaceship has crashlanded on earth, check out our Hands On.

Thankfully according to our DS release schedule, there are still over 50 DS games due to hit stores before the end of the year, including many of these 30 hottest DS games.
