After a brief delay, Natsume has confirmed that Yumi's Odd Odyssey will come to the North American eShop on March 20.

Known originally as Farewell Umihara Kawase, Yumi's Odd Odyssey is a Bionic Commando-like platformer that follows a young girl (Yumi) who sets out on a quest to become a world-renowned sushi chef.

Rather than study and enroll in a culinary school, which is what any sane person would do, Yumi straps on her signature pink backpack, grabs a magical fishhook, and swings about battling giant crabs.

A full cast of characters

Although Yumi's odyssey is undeniably odd, she thankfully won't be going it alone.

Joining Yumi on her quest is her time-bending friend Yokoyama, Yumi-chan a younger version of Yumi, and her childhood friend Emiko who can create checkpoints in levels.

In addition to exploring levels full of platforms and pitfalls, Yumi's Odd Odyssey will feature boss fights that challenge players to employ all of the tricks in Yumi's odd arsenal to come out on top.

Yumi's Odd Odyssey will cost $29.99 when it launches on the eShop.
