Well, colour us surprised.
The iOS port of Lego Star Wars that we expected to hit in 2014 is coming out much sooner than we initially expected.
As in, it could conceivably be on your iOS device of choice with a few hours - or sooner, if you have a New Zealand iTunes account.
In a nod to the season of giving, Traveller's Tales included the first episode of Lego Star Wars with the initial download while additional episodes (movies, to those who don't speak Ewok) are available as in-app purchases.
We're gonna have companyThe release of Lego Star Wars for iOS is an odd parabola for Traveller's Tales, as it was the definitive tie-in Lego game that introduced mechanics like stud collecting, freeform character selection, and silly comedy that would come to define the franchise.
Yet for whatever reason (brand appeal), Lego Harry Potter, Lego Batman, and Lego The Lord of the Rings all beat the venerable Star Wars to the App Store first.
Ruminations aside, you should definitely consider checking this one out whether you're a Star Wars fan or Lego enthusiast.
