Get ready for a sharp Intake in Cipher Prime's retro-futuristic drugstep shooter for iOS and Android
Pill popper
You should already be familiar with the music-centric games of Cipher Prime. Games such as the Gold Award-winning Auditorium and the Silver Award-winning Pulse.
In Cipher Prime's new game, music is once again very much the focal point of the experience.
It's called Intake, and it's described by Cipher Prime as a "retro-futuristic drugstep arcade shooter".
Glow sticksSurrounded by bassy warbles and neon glows, you have to avoid a lethal overdose. Not kidding. Simply put, your task is to shoot the pills flying in from the top of the screen.
You'll have to focus your shots on specific colours, and deal with the increasing barrage you encounter on every new level.
You can grab vitamins during play and trade them for upgrades. Power-ups, meanwhile, present you with a way to quickly clear the screen.
Game modes include Acceleration, Minefield, Reaction, and Flood, each of which has its own leaderboard.
Intake is only available for PC and Mac through Humble Bundle Weekly at the moment, though Cipher Prime assures us that iOS and Android versions are in development.
Stay, ahem, tuned for more concrete release dates.
