Two big swinging discs come out today in the UK – PSP puzzler Mercury Meltdown and the long-awaited DS Opera Browser. While neither is likely to make the Six O'Clock News, they continue the increasing run of handheld software kicked off by last week's PSP bumper crop.

Next Friday the PSP run continues with the latest version of the heavyweight muscle car that is Ridge Racer 2, as well as the relatively unknown conversion of Power Stone Collection onto PSP.

DS owners, meanwhile must make do with Crazy Frog Racer. We suggest you probably shouldn't. Instead, check out these 30 great DS games set to come out by Christmas.

Also on the radar for both platforms, incidentally, is Konami's Pro Evolution 6. This football legend tends to follow FIFA (already out now) but we're still waiting for any word on the release date from the publisher's lockeroom.

As for pure slippages, Capcom Puzzle World, originally due out today, is now without a release date at all.

Bonus LEGO Star Wars on PSP latest: Where are the droids we're looking for? Good question. Still no release date. October 6th
