Rocket League: Sideswipe is set to launch their newest season of content with a brand new game mode and cosmetics soon
After the latest futuristic-themed Season 5 in September, Psyonix is setting up to launch the next big batch of content for Season 6 of Rocket League: Sideswipe, their mobile adaptation of the immensely popular racing-soccer combo Rocket League. Season 6 will feature a good bit of new stuff, but the real highlight is a brand-new game mode for players to try their hand at!
This new game mode, titled Heatseeker Mode, works as follows: when the ball is hit by a team or hits the rim of a goal, it will automatically fly towards the opposing goal of whoever is in danger. Each hit by the opposing team’s car increases the speed of the ball, and players can collide with the opponents to disrupt their playmaking. This will surely make for an absolutely bonkers way to play Sideswipe, and is a surefire way to mix up your typical matches.
On top of this, there’s a new crossover event between the mobile Sideswipe and the console/PC-based Rocket League itself. If you’re a player of both, you’ll have the opportunity to unlock the Octopus Player Banner in both titles, and even some anniversary-themed goodies in Sideswipe.
Oh yeah, did I mention that Season 6 will also be launching alongside the celebration of Sideswipe’s 1-year anniversary? With both of these huge events landing at the same time, there’s never been a better time for Rocket League fans to hop into either games!
