Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus releases information on the upcoming update which introduces a battle pass and a brand new hero character

Games Workshop and Snowprint Studios’ recently launched strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus has announced the details of its next big update, which will include the game’s first Battle Pass. Gamers will recognize this concept as it has been seen in dozens of other games now, and it will be introduced alongside another new upcoming unit to fill in your team’s ranks with.

In case you’re not familiar with the concept of a Battle Pass, the idea here is that there will be two parallel tracks of rewards that you can follow, one free and one premium. Regardless of which you have access to, both will hand out tons of free rewards based only on progress within the game along with certain quests and challenges you might have to complete. Tacticus will feature a 50-milestone long pass, meaning there will be 50 different points to hit as you progress through the pass.

This is the first time Tacticus has introduced this concept, but it has been seen to work within games like Fortnite or even PUBG, and is not an uncommon sight within free-to-play titles nowadays. While the price for the premium track hasn’t been announced yet, these typically run for $10, so perhaps that’s what we’ll end up seeing here too.

While the Battle Pass is exciting news, what’s even more exciting is the new unit that will be added shortly after the pass launches. This new unit is a member of the Aeldari faction, a race of technology-loving psychic power-wielding fellows who often dabble in mind-control-like powers. One of their specialities is their Farseers, which are sorcerous Warlocks who can see into the future and draw powers from the Warp, a source of primordial energy within the lore.

This new unit, Eldryon Ynaduin, is one of those Farseers. They wield psychic power that grows each round, allowing them to unleash more powerful Warp blasts as the fight goes on. Their ability to see into the future also means that you will always be one step ahead of enemy units, so there’s plenty of utility here.

If you’d like to wield Eldryon’s unique abilities yourself and see what all the fuss is about, you can download Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus right now at either of the links below for free! In the meantime, you can also check out the official Twitter for more information on the game!
