HandyGames teams with Glu for Townsmen 6

Hoping to capitalise on Glu's sales power

HandyGames has announced that Glu Mobile will be publishing its upcoming Townsmen 6 game.

It's the second time HandyGames' flagship strategy franchise has been published externally - Townsmen 5 was published by Disney.

The new game is due to launch in the second quarter of 2009, and HandyGames says the previous titles have racked up more than a million sales in total.

The publisher is planning to use motion-sensing and touchscreen features in Townsmen 6 on capable handsets, so it seems fairly logical that an iPhone version will also be produced - although it's unclear whether Glu would have the rights to that too.

"This partnership combines high quality Made in Germany production and the international sales power of Glu Mobile," says HandyGames boss Christopher Kassulke (pictured).
