Smuttlewerk Interactive, the independent developer behind top-down role-playing title Companions, has announced that it's bringing a 3D turn-based strategy title to the iPhone and iPad later this month.

Entitled Time of Heroes, this Universal app revolves around a group of humans that land on a hostile foreign coast following the destruction of their former home.

Naturally, its hostile nature means you'll be fighting to survive. It's a good job you can control six heroes, take control of a further six varieties of unit, and utilise powerful skill trees as your warriors level-up in an RPG manner, then.

Smuttlewerk Interactive has baked support for Apple's iCloud right into the forthcoming title, so you can start a battle on your iPad and strike the final blow on your iPhone.

Demand entry

The first chapter in the Time of Heroes storyline, Arrival, will be available to download from the App Store on January 19th for just 69p / 99c.

This price will rise to £2.49 / $3.99 on the 22nd, so snap it up quickly if you're interested.

Additional chapters will be released periodically, and will be available through in-app purchases.
