SNK Playmore's 2D beat-'em-up King of Fighters-i 002 comes to iPhone, 6 free fighter updates planned

King of Fighters-i 002, the latest entry in SNK Playmore's popular 2D fist-flinging series of battlers, is now squaring off against other fighters in the App Store.

For £4.99/$7.99 you get your hands on 14 fighters, including protagonists Kyo Kusanagi, K’, Ash Crimson, and Billy Kane from the Fatal Fury series, with six additional characters planned as free downloads by October.

You can put your brawlers through rigorous battles in three-on-three team matches, old fashioned one-on-one brawls, against endless waves of sluggers, or simply partake in some training.

You can even go up against your friends with Bluetooth multiplayer.

King of Fighters-i 002 allows you to pull off brutal and complex moves using various touch controls and a simple 'specials button', in a similar fashion to Capcom's Street Fighter IV iOS outing.

Throughout the game you'll collect hand-drawn illustrations, sketches, team story novels, and movies from the upcoming PS3 and Xbox 360 title King of Fighters XIII, as well as special premium trading cards that can be exchanged with buddies.

The King of Fighters series has spanned many consoles such as Game Boy, N-Gage, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Xbox, and Wii.

You can pick it up for your iPhone now for £4.99 / $7.99.
