You'll pay for your sins in karmic platformer The Deer God, when it hits iOS next month
What goes around...
Crescent Moon's barmy karmic platformer The Deer God now has a release date on iOS.
The game is about a dead p hunter who, for his sins against deerkind, has been reincarnated as an ungulate. So you'll have to bound along on all fours, platforming and puzzle solving your way to redemption.
There's a procedurally generated world to explore, with distinct biomes and a day and night cycle. And there's permadeath, but if you mate with fellow deer you'll be able to respawn as your offspring when you die. Just like real deers do.
You'll also have to fight other animals, but need to make sure you don't injure innocent critters or your karma will take a hit. And if you're too evil you may be reincarnated as a weak animal like a bunny rabbit.
It's a certainly an interesting looking game, but the mixed reviews on Steam are a little worrying. We'll find out for ourselves when The Deer God lands on iOS on September 3rd - and on Android sometime after that.
