Tag Games' Funpark Friends wins Herald Scotland Digital Business Award 2011 for best Scottish game

Tag Games has only recently released its freemium title Funpark Friends but already it has picked up an award.

The social mobile title was published on the studio's Tagplay label and ran away with the Games Award at the Heraldscotland.com Digital Business Awards 2011 event which is aimed at showcasing the very best of Scottish video games.

Next step, Android

"The social mobile games sector is rapidly expanding and Tag is proud to be at the forefront, not just in Scotland, but on a global basis," said CEO of Tag Games Paul Farley.

"This award is recognition of excellence in that sector then and has been achieved with our very first social mobile game! It's an amazing achievement for the team at Tag and for Channel 4 and Creative Scotland, both of whom have provided vital support in bringing this game to market."

The game itself is available on iOS platforms but is expected to make the move to Android in the near future.

In the mean time, Tag Games will be focusing on building upon its successes, as it expands its current team to around 50 staff members in its new Dundee office.
