12 titles to benefit from laptop contest

Ever since it entered the industry, RealNetworks has talked of potential synergies between its mobile games and its online and PC/Mac titles.

Such synergies haven't always been easy to actually roll out, however, thanks to the technical and business quirks of mobile.

Some evidence that the strategy remains is provided by the announcement that RealNetworks has teamed up with US mobile operator Alltel Wireless to promote its stable of 12 RealArcade-branded mobile games.

The promotion is called the 'RealArcade Mobile Laptop Giveaway, and runs until the end of this month.

Anyone buying one of the 12 games will be entered into a contest to win prizes, including an 'Ultimate Gaming Laptop' for the winner and Nintendo DSs for the runners up.
