Radical Rappelling sees you choosing between Rip and Roxy, male and female mountain climbers who share an addiction to puns.

You'll then begin your endless descent. Hold your thumb on the screen to kick off the side of a mountain to fall. Lifting your thumb at any point stops you from moving.

You'll need to do this to avoid obstacles and complete tricks like landing on rocks in a specific order, landing in the middle of a target sign, or falling through a ring of light (ringo!).

Stop for too long and you'll be engulfed in lava, ending your drop. This also happens if you land on any of the horrible spiky pink rocks.

Rock hop!

Successfully performing tricks fills up your 'remix bar' which, when full, allows you to rocket down the mountain in an invulnerable state for a brief period of time. You can continue chaining tricks to make the state last a little bit longer.

You're given objectives to perform, either in the next round or indefinitely. It's a similar system to Punch Quest, Ski Safari, or Jetpack Joyride, where you rank up once you've completed a certain number of objectives.

Ranking up earns you new cosmetic items, a cash injection, and a ruby - a virtual currency that you can use to buy new cosmetic items or gold.

Gold is readily available and collected while you play. You use this to unlock upgrades that shrink dangerous rocks, allow you to pull gold towards you like a magnet, or slow down lava.

Rattlesnakes!

It's a lot of fun and very addictive - particularly when you sign up to Facebook and see all of your friend's scores. Chaining tricks and filling the remix bar feels satisfying and the simplicity of the gameplay makes it difficult to get out of the one-more-go chain.

The only minor annoyance is the incessant reminder that there are IAPs. After each round (!) you're offered to try or buy a different costume. It feels a bit much.

Radical Rappelling

Radical Rappelling is incredibly fun and addictive but slightly marred by incessant IAP reminders
