Earlier in November, UK trade association TIGA hosted its inaugural game awards in Bath as part of the ExPlay 2012 conference.

Having spoken to scores of nominees in the run up to the big night, we decided to catch up with a few of the lucky winners, starting with Denki.

We spoke to player champion Romana Ramzan to find out how the studio feels about Quarrel coming out on top in both the social and serious game categories.

Pocket Gamer: How do you feel about winning these TIGA awards? Romana Ramzan: We were really happy to hear that we were nominated for two TIGA awards and then to go on and win those awards was a fantastic feeling especially when the quality of nominees was so high. Absolutely delighted. What impact do you think these awards will have on your studio?

It will have a great impact because for us to be recognised in these two categories - both social and serious - really captures the essence of why we’re so proud of Quarrel.

It just goes to show that you can provide a meaningful learning experience in a fun way.

How did you enjoy the award ceremony? Were you out late at the afterparty?

The awards ceremony was fun - congratulations to all those involved in putting together such a great event!

I wasn't out too late at the afterparty - just enough to enjoy our win.

Where will you be putting your trophies?

In our shiny hall of fame mantelpiece.

Thanks to Romana for her time.
