One-two punch: Amazon offers up analytics and A/B testing for iOS and Android

Expanding its portfolio of developer services, Amazon has lifted the lid on analytics and A/B testing tools for iOS and Android, stating it's looking to help studios "increase user engagement and monetisation."

The new services are offered as a single, free SDK, with Amazon claiming it's looking to free up time for developers to spend on what they do best: developing games.

Helping hand

"Developers value data-driven decision making and experimentation as it helps them increase engagement and sales," detailed the giant, lifting the lid on the SDK.

"However, today's off-the-shelf options for analytics and testing can be slow, inaccurate, expensive, or platform dependent. Developers who build their own analytics and testing solutions are forced to spend more time on building and scaling backend services, and less time on creating new content and experiences for their customers.

"The analytics and A/B testing services help with these challenges, allowing developers to spend more time creating content, reviewing performance and building exciting new experiences for their customers."

Amazon claims the SDK is easily to integrate with both new and existing games, with implementation taking less than a day in most cases.

Full details on both services can be found over on Amazon's developer blog.
