DroidMote update lets you use the Xperia Play as a wireless gamepad for Android tablets

The DroidMote app has been updated to make use of the Xperia Play.

This means you can now play a game on an Android tablet using the Xperia Play as a fully enabled joypad (as long as you have both pieces of equipment to hand).

DroidMote works by installing a different version on each device - a server app to be installed on the tablet you want to control and a client app to be installed on the phone you want to use as a controller.

If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you can also run an HDMI cable from the tablet to your TV and you have yourself a makeshift Android console.

The client app is free [download], while the server app costs £1.30 / $2.00 [download].
