Monsters Ate My Metropolis will let you destroy entire cities when it comes out on August 13th

Can you hear it? The distant roars. The bricks crumbling. It can only mean one thing. Monsters Ate My Metropolis is coming out this week.

No, really, after revealing it last week, Adult Swim Games has confirmed that this cartoony city-stomping card battler will be out for iOS and Android on August 13th.

It looks a right good time if the gifs are anything to go by. There's a pug in a robot suit, a crab with an army of laser dolphins, and a robot unicorn with the sucking power of a tornado.

These are the monsters that you command to attack cities as they, in turn, try to defend from your tyranny. It's all played by selecting cards that correspond to different abilities.

And the cards are also divided rock-paper-scissors style into three colours (red, green, and blue) that each do more damage against a certain opposing colour.

But it's not all about attacking as you also have to build a deck for your own metropolis to defend it from other players' monsters.

We'll remind you when you can download Monsters Ate My Metropolis for free in a couple of days.
