Pretty good!

I was so stoked for this to come out! This game is definitely fun so far. The story is cute, the mechanics are easy to understand, it’s very colorful and nicely done. My only complaints right now are that there is no option to pick male or female, there are a few glitches in the graphics here and there, and the controls are a tad too touchy. It would be nice to be able to change sensitivity, but I’m getting used to it. You have 45 minutes to try the game out before you have the option to buy, and I felt that was a good time frame to see if I would really like it enough to spend $6 on it.

Which I did, by the way. The game definitely grabbed my attention, and that’s hard with having the attention span of a gnat. You can tell a lot of love went into this game. Great job!

Thanks for the great review 😍 Very useful insights for us.
I might have to make time modelling a female Nor before the holidays 😅

I like it but I’m disappointed

So I am one of the people that pre ordered this game. I was very excited to see that it had downloaded after the wait. When I play I noticed that I would only get 45 minutes of game play and had to pay 5.99 for the full 5 hours. You’ve said you’ve spent years on this game but I understand you simply just trying to make money. But a lot of other people are also disappointed with how this turned out to be, seeing how the trailer was very nicely made but the character graphics in the game were nothing near that. When I had noticed I had to pay 5.99 for the full gameplay I was also disappointed because 5 hours doesn’t seem that long do to the amount of money I have to pay just to play a game I’ve been longing for. I thought it was a good idea to give people who had pre ordered the game the full gameplay or at least a better advantage at gameplay but this game turned out very disappointing. I was honestly more excited when Sky: Children of the Light came out because it has more to it than just 45 minutes of playing.

We're sorry to hear that you're disappointed by the game. The trailer was made from recording pure gameplay, so I'm not sure what you're referring to here. We are a small company of few people who are trying to get by in the video game industry, we hope that you understand why we need to charge for the game. We also opted to having a premium price instead of ads or microtransactions because it would have messed with our vision of how the game should be.

Plenty of fun but...

I’m so happy Headland has came out! I pre-ordered it and looked forward to playing it. I played the “45 minutes” of free gameplay and went ahead and bought the full game. There’s a few things that need to be brought to someone’s attention though... First, Combat. The combat in the game is incredibly annoying. Playing this game on phone is very difficult. Playing with one hand means you cannot attack and move at the same time. Playing with two hands makes it strenuous to attack as well because sometimes Nor will move instead of attack, attack instead of move, or completely miss the enemy. The combat is finicky, thats all on that. Second, the shards. If you collect the last shard, you’re able to just go ahead and fight the last boss no matter how many shards you’re missing. Convenient for the player, but still isn’t correct. It is a very fun game but sometimes things like the combat takes some of the fun away. Only some.

Thanks for the feedback, we'll keep tweaking combat and movement! The game is made for one-hand use with quick swipes to get in and out of combat. There'll be an update soon with a few fixes, so please keep an eye out for that! Of course, being able to complete the game without all the shards is a bug we have to fix, thanks for the report!
