Previously missing from iOS 6, Apple has refreshed the App Store on the platform's beta once more, this time switching on app recommendations via Genius.

The feature, which has been available on the App Store on previous versions of iOS, had been notable in its absence to date, though the latest update makes Genius available for developers running the beta on iPhone and iPad alike.

Hello, old friend

Interestingly, turning on Genius – from the bar at the bottom of the App Store, as before – serves up a UI especially similar to the new search results set up recently added to iOS 6's mix.

Screenshots adorn larger than usual tiles, suggesting Apple has simply lifted said existing model and adopted it in the updated search results format.

Commentators expect Apple to lift the lid on iOS 6's lead device – iPhone 5 – on 12 September.
