In a case of returning to source, RealArcadeMobile, the mobile game brand of of RealNetworks, has been rebranded as GameHouse on mobile carrier decks.

Those with long memories will recall that GameHouse is the Seattle-based casual games studio which Real bought in 2004, in a deal worth around $36 million.

Together with Finnish developer Mr.Goodliving, bought in 2005 for $15 million, and Dutch publisher Zylom, bought in 2006 for $21 million, these companies saw RealNetworks become one of the largest casual and mobile games companies.

Together, apart

Since then GameHouse has continued to operate as part of RealNetworks, with its GameHouse.com consumer portal being available alongside the RealArcade.com portal.

The two online consumerdestinations were finally merged in late 2009, with the migration of RealArcade accounts to GameHouse.

For RealNetworks' Q4 2009, the games division booked revenues of $30.7 million, down 9 percent year-on-year.
